Lawns: A History

We use the same approach as Mother Nature " Suscession"

The EnviroPerfect Methodology

Below are some amazing examples of our methodology and research at work. Each solution is completely organic and chemical free, and focuses on utilizing positive, natural biology to counter harmful biology. Mother nature has systems in place to counter every pest, every disease. It is simply a matter of accurately diagnosing the problem, and applying the right answer.

EnviroPerfect can restore the most desireable biology in your Earth. Contact us today.

Above: Soil undergoes a natural evolutionary process. It starts from bare minerals devoid of life, and progresses all the way to old growth forests. The entire process can take thousands, even millions of years, and moves in a predictable pattern.

Events like volcanoes and fire, and the use of synthetic fertilizer and chemicals, can force that evolution to take a step backwards. The biology under your lawn and garden should be in the green arrow range above. That biology in the soil is designed by mother nature to work in a symbiotic relationship with the plants above.

By using chemicals and synthetic fertilizers, we hurt the ecosystem in the soil, killing the micro-organisms off to the point where the plants can no

longer draw efficiently from water and nutrients below, and become entirely dependent on frequent topical water and fertilizer applications. And the more you synthetically fertilize and water, the more addicted the plants become. Roots shrink, and your maintenance and costs increase dramatically.

Most off-the-shelf synthetic fertilizers target the lawn itself, feeding it directly. This is like spoon feeding it and pampering it to the point where it can't stand on its own. You end up with immediate, and often great looking, results because nutrients are uploaded instantly.
You also get flush grow after watering and feeding, forcing you to cut the lawn more often, increasing the amount of time you have to spend caring for the lawn.

EnviroPerfect is different. EnviroPerfect is concerned with restoring the right biology in the soil by applying nutrients specific to the micro-biology desired in your soil. This causes the populations of these organisms to grow rapidly and the various levels of the ecosystem to re-establish themselves.
EnviroPerfect can do in 2-4 years what mother nature would normally take a hundred to do, and which synthetic fertilizers and chemical are constantly standing in the way of.

Enviro Perfect is essentially targeting the ENTIRE ecology of the soil and plants, as we understand that your lawn is part of a greater system. The lawn is not a stand alone entitity.

DID YOU KNOW? Many synthetic fertlizers are salt based. So when the nutrients from the fertilizer are leached into the soil or used by plants, you're left with salt in the ground.

The more you salt the Earth, the less life it supports. You need more water to wash the salt away, and more fertilizer to overcome the salt content and feed the plants. And when salt comes into contact with the micro-organisms in the soil, it absorbs their water and kills them, destroying the natural ecosystem supporting your plant life!

The end result: You spend ever more time and money putting more water and more synthetic fertilizer on your lawn or crops. This means your costs continually go up as your plants begin to act like drug addicts.

Weeds
Most people look and their lawn and see at least a few weeds here and there. Others see more weeds than grass. The natural instinct is to think of weeds as a pest, and find ways to destroy them, hence the prevalence of herbicides and other chemicals such as RoundUp and KillEx.

These chemicals can have their place when ground conditions require an extreme makeover and alternative methods may not be practical or cost effective. However, they should only ever be used sparingly and in spot control situations. Regular use, or use once a lawn is established, is strongly discouraged, as they kill more than what they’re designed for. They kill beneficial organisms in the soil as well.

Weeds naturally thrive in an environment that is harsher than that suited for the kind of grass you want in a lawn. Weeds are survivalists, and will make use of your land unless you elevate the biology and soil conditions

to a point unsuitable for them. That’s why lawns treated by EnviroPerfect eventually eliminate weeds naturally. The environment lets the lawn naturally out-compete the weeds.

The Soil Food Web
The Soil Food Web is the interconnected system of micro-organisms in the soil beneath your lawn. They’re doing all the hard work beneath the surface, which keeps the plant life above the surface looking great and thriving.

Without proper root structure, earth worms, proper bacteria and fungi, and other organisms, your lawn can’t receive all the nutrients from the soil. They all work in a symbiotic or food chain relationship.

For example, earth worms dig holes through the soil, creating air spaces that allow oxygen to reach the roots, and make the soil more porous for better water penetration and retention, so your lawn needs less watering.

The EnviroPerfect Solution
The first step is getting your lawn of its drug dependency with fertilizers and chemicals. Then EnviroPerfect applies solutions specifically targeting certain organisms in the food web to bring the life back to the soil very quickly.

While we generally begin treatments in the Spring, the entire process of 3 consecutive treatments can take as little as 4-6 weeks, so its never to late to start the organic lawn care program. We start new clients on the program as late as August and September.

Stunning Changes
See what a vital impact Soil Biology has.

(Click the pictures to see a larger version.)

The biology of the soil is vital to letting plants achieve their maximum potential. The examples below show you just how dramatic changes in your land can be once EnviroPerfect treatment begins.

The results are amazing...

Roots from a typical grass can be seen

growing to unheard of lengths! Just imagine how drought resistant your grass could be, and how much more nutrients your lawn would have access to. EnviroPerfect treatment can even assist in treating diseased trees, or give your garden a natural boost. Your vegetables will become larger, tastier and more nutritious.

Above: After one year, this sports field turns from a mud bog to a lush, healthy turf. It is now safer, softer, is far more able to withstand punishment, and will recover faster from the punishment it does take.

Above: As a test project, this football field had the application process done to different sections only, not the entire field. You can see the lush, green results in the areas treated, and the paler, rougher, untreated sections.

Esplanade, Surfer’s Paradise
Left: Seen after 15'000 people trampled on the edge of the beach during a surfer's festival.
Right: The same spot after one year's treatment, following the same festival the next year. The turf withstood the punishment even growing in a beach environment.

Above: Using conventional fertilizer, the results on the right were obtained. Using soil with restored boilogy and a complete ecosystem in place, the larger and better corn on the left was produced.

Above: This tree was suffering from anthracnose. Organisms were attacking the buds on the tree, preventing them from opening. The same solution put into the ground to restore soil biology was sprayed directly onto the tree, with immediate results. Benificial micro-organisms grew and attacked the parasite, restoring the tree to perfect health in only weeks.

EnviroPerfecet is currently experimenting with the City of Edmonton to find a way to beat Dutch Elm Disease using similar methods. Dutch Elm Disease has previously resisted all other attempts to eradicate it, and could destroy hundreds of millions of dollars worth of beautiful old trees throughout the region.

Above: In the above example, a tree was suffering from wilt and topical fungicide was failing until the tree was visibly dying.

Under the enviromental program, compose high in anti-fungal biomatter was introduced into the soil in a manner that would not disturb the roots, then a topical application of solution was applied.

The resultant benificial biology saw the tree recovery perfectly in only 15 months.

Left: Rye grass was planted from seed in relatively sandy soil on July 15, 2002, in Washington, USA. It was cut twice to a length of 1/2 inch, then this piece cut and cleaned for show November 6, 2002, after only 3.5 months!

No evidence of disease or weeds were found.

Average lawns in urban areas, golf courses, even crops typically experience root growth of only a few inches. Some people believe that root length should equate to the length of top growth, or that 4 inch roots are the proper length. This is a myth.

With the right biology re-introduced into your soil, your roots will extend much more deeply, even into compact sand and clay, breaking those apart and using the rich nutrients found inside, and improving drainage.

With deep roots, your plants now have the ability to tap into ground water that doesn't evaporate during the day's heat and drought periods, keeping it green even during hot dry summers. And the amount of nitrogen found throughout the right depths is often enough to sustain your lawn for as much as 500 years!
