Organic Lawn Preparation
What to do before EnviroPerfect arrives to turn your old lawn into an Organic Lawn
A few things to keep in mind before EnviroPerfect arrives for a treatment:
- Clear the lawn of obstacles such as toys, tools, and other litter. If you have a dog, try to clean up as many of his droppings as possible.
- Make sure pets and children are in the house so that they don't get underfoot of the field technicians.
- The lawn should be hand or power raked to remove loose ground debris such as fallen leaves, large piles of dead grass, fallen branches, etc. At the same time, if you are doing Spring cleanup, ask your landscape company to aerate your lawn. Do this only in Spring, and ask your landscaper if they use sterilized equipment to prevent contamination from Fairy Ring and other pathogens.
- It is best if you have not fertilized at all this year, but if you have within a week of our arrival, please notify us beforehand. We may delay your treatment for a few days to help give the fertilizer a chance to wash away and present less risk to retarding the growth of the microbiology we are there to support. You must NOT fertilize after treatments begin as this can harm growth of micro-organisms in the soil.
