Carl brings over 30 years of strategic and executive management experience to the EnviroPerfect Solutions team. He has led several major strategic and organizational transformations, including most recently serving as Director General, Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration (PFRA). Carl also served as Executive Director of the provincial Agri-Food Equity Fund, working with entrepreneurs in the development and commercialization of their innovative products. Carl has extensive international experience and also served as a lecturer at both the University of Regina and University of Guelph.
Edwin has a PhD in environmental engineering from the University of Alberta, specializing in the biological, physical, and chemical treatment processes for contaminated soil, water, and waste. His work experiences include university research in Alberta, engineering consulting in Manitoba and Alberta, and product manufacturing from low-grade coal for agricultural, environmental, and industrial sectors in Alberta. Edwin has been working with low grade coal and humic substances since 2001, starting as consultant for Sherrit / Luscar Coal Ltd, then as technical manager for Black Earth Ltd, Black Earth LP, and currently Canadian Humalite Intl., cdnhumaliteintl.com. He is responsible for government financial supports on technology; product development, applications, and regulatory; and plant process engineering and piloting.
Ron is a permaculture design specialist with a particular expertise in ecological landscape design, sustainable food systems and urban agriculture. As the founder and operator of The Urban Farmer (theurbanfarmer.ca), Ron has worked throughout Canada and internationally. He is a teacher, designer, consultant, researcher and project facilitator. Over the past ten years, he has collaborated on countless projects for homeowners, community groups, municipalities, developers, pubic institutions and other stakeholders. His vision brings together strategies for promoting biodiversity and ecological resilience with positive aesthetics and integrated food production: "natural, sustainable and edible landscapes". He is a certified permaculturalist, master gardener, and member of the Society of Organic Urban Landcare professionals (SOUL).
Glen Brown, CEM, CMI
Glen Brown’s curiosity and love for soils early in his career led him to the Amish community. Their patient tutoring and philosophy on soil husbandry and agriculture is the foundation of Glen’s approach to compost making – organization, cleanliness and patience.
Glen’s story includes 17 years of practical field experience. Throughout western Canada, Europe, Cuba, and the USA both government and private sector enterprise have sought Glenn’s composting expertise and soil insight. We are so blessed to have him on our team!
Leonard is a senior soil consultant with over thirty-five years of experience in Canada and abroad. His soils expertise covers agriculture, environment and forestry. He has led and conducted many aspects of land resource evaluation including: soil surveys, agricultural capability, irrigation suitability, forest capability, soil reclamation and remediation, environmental impact assessments, conservation and reclamation planning, construction supervision, long term soil and vegetation plot monitoring on forested and agricultural lands, and training. Leonard worked with government and industry committees in establishing land capability classification systems for reclaimed soils for agriculture and forestry, the well site reclamation criteria, and preside assessment criteria for well sites and associated pipelines for Alberta Environment. He has been an instructor for PITS/ENFORM for fifteen years; the past four years he was instructor for soils and reclamation courses at the University of Alberta both in the Faculty of Agricultural Life and Environmental Sciences and Faculty of Extension; and he has provided numerous training courses covering soils, reclamation and the land capability classification system to consultants, industry and aboriginal communities.
